Kim is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (PA and NJ) and a certified yoga instructor.
Kim is trained in the Kripalu and Pranakriya yoga traditions, both of which have a much lesser emphasis on the various flow vinyasa practices currently popular in the United States.
Kim obtained her master's degree in occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She now serves as a full-time faculty member at Jefferson in the Occupational Therapy department. Her clinical work in the occupational therapy field often utilizes a sensory integrative approach along with yoga and other modalities to treat children and adults living with a variety of diagnoses and disorders.
While persuing her master's degree, Kim evaluated the efficacy of yoga in managing sensory reactivity in adults with sensory defensiveness. She presented her initial findings at the American Occupational Therapy Association's Annual Conference in April, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 respectively and was published in AOTA's Sensory Integration Special Interest Section Newsletter in September 2008.
