Clinical observation and interactive dialogue are the main focus of the one-hour initial appointment intake session; this allows Kim to determine individual strengths and weaknesses and to customize intervention planning and treatment outcomes to match specific needs. Clinical observation services within your child\u2019s school environment are available. This is recommended if difficulties are occurring in the classroom. If possible, the school observation should be scheduled before meeting your child in Kim’s office without the child knowing he\/she is being watched. If anonymity is not possible, Kim will discuss any upcoming visits with your child to determine the best way to reduce any anxieties and fears of being observed in front of peers. If desired, a thorough evaluation with standardized testing can be completed; this would include a detailed written report containing all findings\/recommendations and a follow-up meeting with parents. This type of evaluation can be supportive in situations where formal documentation is required (ie, for funding).
