Services Offered

One-On-One Executive Functioning Coaching, Occupational Therapy, and Family Support/Mindful Parenting (In-Person and/or Online)

Child, adolescent, young adult, and adult coaching and support are available. Services are provided in 15, 30, 45-minute, and/or 1-hour increments. Consultation and/or participation with parents or guardians occurs during each session. Sometimes it is necessary to schedule a separate phone consult with parents to discuss progress without the child or adolescent present. A minimum of one 15-minute check-in weekly is recommended for young adults studying away from home to help keep them on target with treatment plans and meeting desired goals.

Evaluation

If a recent psychoeducational, neuropsychological, or occupational therapy testing has been completed, copies of those reports can be sent to Kim in advance. Clinical observation and discussion are then the focus of the 1-hour initial appointment intake session. The intake is necessary to determine individual strengths and weaknesses and to customize intervention planning and treatment outcomes to match specific needs.

If standardized testing is desired, formalized executive functioning and occupational therapy evaluations take approximately 2 hours. If your child or adolescent cannot tolerate a 2-hour testing block this initial assessment can be scheduled over multiple days until testing can be completed. Findings are synthesized and provided via a comprehensive written report. Fees are calculated based on the testing needed and the level of interpretation and time required to synthesize results. The written report is included in the evaluation fee.

School Observation

Clinical observation services within your child’s school environment are available. This is recommended if difficulties are occurring in the classroom. If possible, the school observation should be scheduled before meeting your child in Kim’s office without the child knowing he/she is being watched. If anonymity is not possible, Kim will discuss any upcoming visits with your child to determine the best way to reduce any anxieties and fears of being observed in front of peers. Services are charged at an hourly base rate; additional compensation may be required for excessive travel distances and any necessary documentation.

Consultation

Onsite and phone consultation, coaching, and support services are available for teachers, tutors, and other caregivers who are supporting your child or adolescent. Services are charged at an hourly base rate.
